The story of LIPIDEA
For several years now, Dr Daniel Gaudet, President and Scientific Director of ECOGENE-21 and an expert clinician in lipidology, has been using the cargo-carrier analogy to explain the role of lipids and the associated disturbances to his patients.
Over time, it became clear that a customizable physical support would be the logical next step to make this analogy even more concrete in consultation. With this in mind, Sophie Bédard, clinician nurse, suggested translating the analogy into a tangible tool.
Together, they imagined and created a simple, visual and rigorous support designed to be used directly with the patients.
Developed by a multidisciplinary team, the tool can be adapted to different clinical and educational contexts.
